The following is the preliminary Project Outline done on Work Shop with my supervisor. You may accord with your experience/expert modify it in a best way.


 


The Project Outline


 


Proposed Title:          A Study of How PCCW Management Motivation Their Staff


 


Brief Introduction to the Problem/Issue


Investigation the management how to motivation the staff as the followings:


l          Salary and related company rule


l          Organization Structure


l          Working environment


l          Personal relationship


l          Working designation


l          Delegate not clear


 


Research questions & objection


l          Understanding employee’s need


l          Design a motivation method to improve staff performance


l          The intention and needs of the staff


l          Identify the needs desire, target, behavior and target of the staff


l          Informal interview with each staff


 


The Project Proposal


This will be no more than three sides of A4, Arial12. Not double spaced.(around 1200-1400 words)


 


The proposal should follow the following format:


 


l          Title – Clearly conveys the purpose of your Report.


l          Background – This section should be used to provide justification for your choice of research topic. It should also be used to demonstrate your knowledge of relevant literature and to clarify where your proposed research fits into the research already carried out in this area.


l          Research questions and objectives – a clear statement of what it is that your research seeks to achieve, with a short list of research questions.


l          Method – (Research Methodology) a statement of precisely how you intend to achieve your research objectives and a rationale for your choice of method


l          Timescale – You should identify the target dates (date and moth) for completion each stage or activity for your Project Report

Please note that the Final Project Report will not be accepted unless the Project proposal and Logbook are included in the final document


l          Resources – a statement of the resources that are required to enable you to complete your project


l          References – literature sources that have been referred to in the background section. Including academic journals. The majority of secondary sources must be from refereed academic journals.


 


The Project Logbook


You should use the logbook to record each activity that you undertake whilst you are completing your project and to record the outcomes of contact that you have with your supervisor and study group. The logbook must be handed with the final version or your Project Report.


 


Your logbook starts at the time of the Project Workshop.


 


The format of the logbook may vary from student to student. It is expected that the logbook will include the following:


 


 


l          date of each activity


l          brief details of each activity/meeting


l          names and contact details of any individuals/organizations that assisted you during the course of the project


l          details of any problems or significant issues encountered


l          details of how such problems/issues were resolved

The outline structure of the report should be in the following general format (likely word count)


l          Title page


l          Abstract (one page) – This is a summary of about 250-500 words describing the problem under investigation and aims of the study. It should briefly identify the main conclusions and recommendations


l          Acknowledgements


l          Contents page – This should show the reader how the report is structured and how the author has developed their approach to the problem.


l          List of tables


l          List of figure


1.      Introduction – description of the problem/situation, project objectives (500 words)


2.      Literature review (3,000 words)


3.      Methodology – description, discussion and justification of the methodology used (2,500 words)


4.      Findings and Analysis – critical analysis (2,000 words)


5.      Conclusions (1,500 words)


6.      Recommendations (500 words)


l          Bibliography


l          Glossary of terms


l          Word count (Sum of words from 1.Introduction to 6. Recommendations)


l          Appendices (Including blank and completed copies of research documents, questionnaires, interview questions, raw data tables)


 


Note: You must keep all of your research materials (questionnaires etc), they may be requested by your supervisor, moderator or external examiner,


 


Project Presentation Guidelines


 


Presentation of Final Project Report


 


The following guidelines should be used in preparing your written report in order that all projects conform to a similar style and structure


 


l          The report should be typed on A4 white paper, single sided and be doubled spaced.


 


l          The left hand margin should be not less than 40mm and the right hand margin not less than 20mm.


 


l          All pages should be numbered at the centre of the bottom page.


 


l          Use Arial font 12
