According to Ann Hession (2006), “tap water is far less expensive than bottled water, but it has its own drawbacks as lead, chlorine, herbicides and pesticides are commonly found in tap water”.

In other words, bottled water is not guaranteed to be any safer than filtered water to start with, and after phthalate contamination from the plastic, it will in fact be even less safe for you and your family. Certainly the bottled water companies are not going to educate their customers about the hidden negative effects of their products.
