PRRODUCT PROPOSAL PRESENTATION – THESIS STATEMENT

Supposed I was asked by the Sales and Marketing manager to present a product proposal before an audience consisting of young adults, male and female between 14-21 years of age. The products are pencoders, digital cameras and PDAs. To go about the actual presentation, I will integrate all the three types of presentation: written prior to and after the presentation and the combination of oral and visual aids on presentation proper. This paper maintains that the integration of a specific type of presentation with the function optimizes the process and thus effectively builds the product awareness of the audience considering that the audience is more particular with they see and hear and eventually putting that into writing.

Written presentations will advent the presenter to build on the contents for discursive purposes while also evoking audience participation and strengthening their appreciation with regards to reading. For the purpose of sounding spontaneous, conversational and enthusiastic, the presenter must effectively synergize the oral and visual presentation. In oral presentations, the presenter should consider the purpose of the presentation primarily and how to use an engaging introduction as well as conclusion. When it comes to the factors of good product demonstration, the control of the situation must be always at the presenter’s side while also holding the audience’s attention and interest. In order to help the audience understand the context of the presentation, the presenter shall use specific scenarios or by brief presentation outlining the product, its features and benefits.

As such, enhancing the message requires the use of visual aids. There are specific considerations though. These are using visual aids sparingly and making them visible to the entire audience. The primary purposes of visual aids are to highlight and to support the key points and so the presenter shall look at the audience 80% of the time instead of the aids. As much as possible, the presenter shall avoid using laser pointers and explain the context of the present visual aid but the presenter could use the products it is demonstrating so as to facilitate demonstration of benefits. In addition, the presenter shall limit the amount of material in each visual aid and avoid clip-arts from well-known resources. The presentation should build on the reputation of the brands.
