Stock Analysis – KID( Crispy  Crème)
 Stock assignments not turned in by deadline will be lowered one letter grade per  day late.
 Note: Write, download, or call to get an annual report to help in your stock  analysis and use in class. Some companies make it easy with a download right  from their website. 
 1. Stock
 A. Name of stock, ticker symbol, and stock exchange
 B. 1. Make a table (not a graph), of a comparative analysis (difference and %)  of your company stock price at present time and 1 year ago, along with one  competitor, and the S & P 500. Cite date.
 2. Discuss how your stock price has performed compared to your competitor and  the S& P 500. 
 C. P/E ratio of your company and your main competitor from above. Cite date. 
 2. Company
 A. Discuss the history of the company. In your history, include when it began  and when it went public.
 B. Name 3 significant events that have occurred in your company history and why  you think these 3 events are the most significant events in the history of the  company. Do not include the opening of the first one and when it went public. 
 C. Who are your company 3 main competitors and explain why each is a direct  competitor 
 D. 1. Productivity of the company. (sales / number of employees). This is a  measure of efficiency that shows the amount of sales dollars that each employee  generates. Create a table containing sales, number of employees and the sales  per employee for your company, one of your main competitors and one company not  in the hospitality industry. If you have chosen a company that is not a  restaurant or hotel (such as Coca Cola), make sure one of the companies is  either a restaurant or a hotel.
 2. Discuss the differences, reasons, and results found above
 3. Management
 A. 1.Who is the company CEO, what year did he/she start, and what is his/her  background? 
 2. What is his/her main vision or goals for the company? (Annual Report) 
 3. By using specific examples of the financial history and the stock prices  since he/she was CEO, discuss why you think the CEO is doing a good/bad job. 
 B. 1)What is the annual income of the CEO? 
 2)Why do you think this is/is not justified by comparing to your competitor CEO  and the performance of both companies (use stock price, income and sales as  indicators). (www.yahoo.com –profiles –expanded list) 
 4. Governance
 1) Discuss the makeup of the board, i.e. (men/women, average age, percentage of  outside directors vs. inside, any other significant issues that you see). Do not  list the names of all of the directors.
 2). Compare your company with the criteria of the hand-out Enron Anyone? Discuss  each point, such as % of outside and inside directors and others.
 3). Discuss 2 of the most interesting external members of the board of  directors. 
 5. Financial
 A. Analysis of the Income Statement. (cite where your income statement is from)
 1. Make an income statement with $ and % using 3 separate years of sales and  operating income for your company and your main competitor.
 2. Discuss trends, how your company is doing compared to your competitor using  each of the points above, AND by including relevant ratios that you have  learned. (www.yahoo.com — income statement).
 B. Analysis of the Balance Sheet. (cite where your balance sheet is from)
 1. Create table of current assets and total assets and current liabilities and  total liabilities for both companies
 2. What is the Current ratio, Working capital, and Solvency ratio (debt to  assets ratio) of your company and your main competitor for 3 years
 3. Discuss how your company is doing compared to your competitor using each of  the points above AND by including relevant ratios that you have learned.  (www.yahoo.com — balance sheet).
 C. Analysis of the Statement of Cash Flows.
 1) Include a table of the 3 areas of the SCM for 3 years
 2) Where did the majority of cash come from? Did you have a plus or minus in  overall cash each year?
