E- LEARNING IN ARAMCO OIL COMPANY


 


      Aramco or Aramco Service Company (ASC) is a subsidiary of Saudi Arabian Oil Company based in the United States established in 1950 in New York City and later moved to Houston in 1974 maintaining an office in Washington DC, an oil production company that efficiently facilitates the delivery of energy and other resources around the world. This company is also a provider of information technology, financing and marine services to its partner company which is the Saudi Arabian Oil Company or Saudi Aramco.


      They have built a wide class of petroleum exploration, refining, production and distribution and shipping to supply more than 10 percent of the world daily needs for oil. And in Saudi Aramco along can produce at least 3.4 Billion of barrels of oil per year that is why Aramco or ASC provide and recruit efficient and qualified workers and professionals including cost efficient materials to be used, and students from USA and Canada so that they can learn the Standard Operating Procedure of the company and later be engage as employee in the company. Employees can expect so much perks and benefits upon hiring including medical, dental hospitalization, insurance and other securities.


      Saudi Aramco which is their parent company has been engage in E-Learning activities for students and professionals. Basically student from various courses especially in engineering, computer science, financing and other courses are selected and trained in all phases of the company so that they will be suitable in most jobs in the company. Students and professionals performed the following task to be able to gain valuable training experience for the long term benefits of the company.


      A Classroom daily activities depending on the course or assigned task that they will be involved, with the help of a variety of staff they are performing school like program that uses highly technologically advanced methods of teaching and learning activities, using the most sophisticated computers and company machineries that are exclusively used inside the company. They also include enrichment activity program to further develop not just the skills of the students in the workplace but also encourage them to be matured and professionally engaging at work. In 2007 alone they have already gathered almost 10,000 students to prepare them for advancement in technology they have become the leader in innovation preparing these students to the best learning environment as they progresses.               


      As the market needs for oil continues to grow the company also expanded their training in technical and network evolution programs in partnership with other learning institution. This guarantees that students are really prepared and the future of company employment and workforce are stable. In other non technical and vocational studies they have already employed management and human resources, executive activities in their E-learning programs. To complement a great series and short courses program they also include short courses in their company for immediate position evaluation and manpower which is easily employed to the field production operation. Basically apprenticeship training programs, high school students, vocational, including outreach program enrollees are accepted to give them the opportunity if they performed well.  


      Due to the progressive production and distribution of the company King Abdullah entrusted the “King Abdullah University of Science and Technology” to Saudi Aramco to develop a new research and technology combines with passion and performance that will strengthen the industry of Saudi Aramco and other affiliates. This University is entirely devoted to professionals and post doctoral studies to further develop their position and technological knowledge. This University only starts their existence in 2009 so more and more student professional will likely to be employed in this programs.  


      Using the most advance mechanism which sometimes they call data center laboratory, students are trained through simulation environment for the preparation of the gigantic engineering command center the heart of Saudi Aramco which looks like a stock exchange kingdom environment that is wide and full of high end computers. This command center is digitally like a stadium that controls all the workflow and distribution of the overall operation of the company.


      As of today Aramco and Saudi Aramco has been engaging in a multi-lateral exchange of students employees relation to work hand in hand and with other affiliates, and as of today in Saudi Aramco alone they have employed more than 50,000 technical and professionals that promotes the efficiency of the company.


      They have a vision of producing 900,000 barrels of oil per year before 2024 although there are reports that this expectation cannot be possible, they have been using all the manpower resources to fulfill such vision.
