THE BEAUTY OF PALAWAN CITY PHILIPPINES (MY FAVORITE PLACE)
This is my favorite place, Puerto Princesa Palawan and this is probably one of the country’s cleanest and greenest place you can ever find, they have preserved and protect their local environment that is why there are green forest and virgin island that people will definitely love to visit, white sand beaches with crystal clear water that is transparent, you can see under water living creatures and fishes while you swim.
There are abundant sources of natural resources including trees and wildlife; you can also see big bedrocks and limestone along the shoreline. This place has one of the world’s longest underground rivers, you can navigate the huge cave a clear lagoon and ancient trees and other animals live there, this is truly a fascinating place that is why it is given the United Nations Global Awards for conservation and preservation. You can visit the 8.2 kilometer underground river by hiring a banca (a small boat) and in the entrance and inside the caves you can see the biggest stalactite and stalagmite that is naturally formed by nature thousands of years ago as you pass by you can see many animals including bats, big lizards, different monkeys, squirrel even some sorts of snakes on the side of the caves and on the water as you passed.
The beauty of Palawan are also the people who are living there they will welcome you with a smile and they love visitors to come into their little houses, some people will even allow you to live in their place for a few days while on vacation, they love to serve visitors and they ask nothing in return, they know how to speak a bit of English and Tagalog and they have their own native Visayan dialects too. They are easy to deal with that makes this place truly amazing.
These people are friendly you can find indigenous people like the Batak and Tagbanuas living here they have their own different cultural distinctions but most of them are equally hospital so you never have to worry about their personality because they are warm in general as much as I have experience. You will definitely love their native delicacies that you can buy from the restaurant or cook your own food through their native ways of cutting fishes and meat you will learn how they cut various vegetables and trees along with the natives.
If you simply want to relax for a few hours and watch the island’s view in Puerto Princesa you may chose a hotel that suites your needs there are various hotels including Asturias Hotel, Island Palawan Hotel, Legend Hotel, Palawan Airport Village Hotel. All of them offer various services including fine dining, souvenir shopping, sports amenities, conference services and function room for business and leisure, facilities for children and adults, cable rooms and internet.
During the year they also perform different types of wonderful festivities almost all year round that are absolutely exciting and colorful. Arawedan festival that features the beauty of Palawan, the Kulambo festival (mosquito net) is a gathering of people dancing and singing, presenting various native foods that you will love, Pasinggatan festival highlights their culture and tradition, Baragatan is a weeklong celebration for that includes shopping and trading, Anihan festival for thanking and healthy yields of crops. And there are many wonderful festivals that locals and visitors will surely enjoy.
There are many local and foreign visitors who visit this place all year long because of its flora and fauna that you can never find elsewhere, the tropical weather that is almost always good for travelers. If you are a nature tripper like we do you can visit the forest and experience a once in a lifetime ride of your life, you can also enjoy different kinds of birds as you walk along the forest and you will be greeted with various kinds of harmless animals as you walk along so get ready with you camera.
You can also do island hopping by hiring a pump boat and choose the island that you would like to visit. There are nine islands all in all, Lulu Island is a great place to visit since you may not be able to see this island during high tide because it sinks but it is visible during low tide. There is also the snake island, Pandan Island, Señorita Island, Aracefe Island and many others.
There are so many places that we never had the opportunity to visit including the Scuba divers hotspot where you can find one of the finest places to dive, the crocodile farm, the Palawan museum and the butterfly garden. All this are equally good place to visit but basically we have so much memory to cherish and will probably visit this place again because for now this is probably one of the best place I have ever found.
