As environmental issues have been a problem in the society and were getting worst due to the rapid changes in the society. The need to make and conduct any move that could be of help to the preservation of nature is necessary. It is necessary for different states to come up with a treaty that would enable them to counter the effect of the depreciation of the natural resources. However, it is also necessary that the countries must not only look at the future benefits or impacts of the said treaties or agreement. The fact that the current situations of such countries are vital to the success of such treaties.

This is an analysis on the effect of the Kyoto Protocol in the sustainability of the South East Asian Development. The paper will first discuss the meaning and the importance of the Kyoto Protocol, to be followed by the present situation of the South East Asian Development Sustainability. An analysis will be the subsequent topic, taking into consideration the positive and negative effect of the Kyoto Protocol. A conclusion will end this paper, summarizing all the key points that have been discussed all through out the paper.

KYOTO PROTOCOL

The Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement linked to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Changes. Its major feature is to set the binding targets for thirty-seven industrialized countries and the European community for reducing the greenhouse gas emissions. The Kyoto Protocol is an international treaty that provides for a mandatory removal and reducing of some industries that has been emitting greenhouse gases. The reduction that is provided in the treaty approves any compromise that may be agreed upon by the signatories countries in the reduction of its targets. The target progress of the treaty is 2005.

There are number of states who opposed to the creation of this protocol because of some of its effect to the energy industry which will likely suffer as regards to the income aspect rather than the environmental protection or prevention of the environment.

PRESENT SUSTAINABILITY

According to (2008), there is a rapid rate of in-migration and also rapid expansion and urban sprawl. Southeast Asian countries are relatively young and majority of it continue to love in a rural life. Hence, Southeast Asian countries are not that mature enough to undergo different kinds or abrupt change that could make their country suffer.

The worst scenario that could happen to this Asian countries is that when they will try adopt measures that could make their countries progress and yet otherwise had happened. The downfall of these countries is much more painful to endure before the adaptation of several measures.

According to (n.d.), the Southeast Asian countries moved forward as remarkable as possible in their economic growth path. There are many factors that can serve, as the basis of such phenomenon, but the most importance is the institutional and policy reforms initiates and implemented at the end of the 80’s.

Hence, it is right for the author to say the sustainability of Southeast countries is basically pointing out on the fact that the such states are still on the process of making their economy and their country be on the competitive edge. There are still countries who subject their countries to different kinds of trial and error as regards to the way they will be able to make their government efficient and also to give their constituents the right amount of support in order to protect public welfare.

ANALYSIS

The author only has tow factors that can be cited in determination of the impact of the Kyoto Protocol to the Southeast Asian. There are a lot of Southeast countries which are part or signatories of the protocol. As afore stated, Southeast Asian countries are those countries, which are developing rapidly but still considered to be young in the world. One of the factors that the Kyoto Protocol has an impact is the business industry of the subject countries.

The business industries of these counties are still on the process of making their economy stable. The ability of such countries to protect their natural resources is not that efficient because of their drive to better their economy. Hence, there are some barriers in the Kyoto Protocol that can make the economy of these countries be on the unsafe side.

As these countries are continuously making ways to make their economy stable the ability to foresee the effect of such ways to the environment is not that efficient. Hence, to safeguard their environment, they subject themselves to these kinds of treaties. However, the factors that are giving much contribution to their economy are really in the way of affecting their environment.

Another factor is interrelated to the just discussed factor, and that is the basis of the energy industry. According to (n.d.), many Southeast Asian countries possess a large base of indigenous energy resources. Much of the gas is used to produce electricity by power plants opened either by public enterprises or by plants operated by independent power producers. Hence, the business industries of these companies mainly run thru the benefits of the energy that could emit green house.

Hence, the difficulty to abide with the provisions and the agreement of the Protocol and also the stability of their economy is at stake. If the countries are dependent on energy products, and because of such they will be considered to be a failure as regards to what they have agreed upon. Hence, two things could happen, countries may not be able to sustain their economy but could preserve the environment, or to fully subscribe themselves to the attainment of their economy and lost the possibility of prolonging what they can derive from the environment.

CONCLUSION

Therefore, it is right for the author to conclude that the effect or impact of the Kyoto Protocol will depend on how Asian countries view the necessity of abidance to the agreement or to how they value the vital impact of their stable economy to make their countries progress.

As Kyoto Protocol helps the countries to reduce the emission of the greenhouse gases that has a terrible, effect to the health and also will be the reason to protect the intergeneration. It is also necessary to take into consideration the preservation stability of the economy and the sustainability to give the constituents the proper amount of resources to continue living.
