  • Conclusion: Briefly summarize what your paper discussed and the conclusion(s) you reached in the paper.





 


Week 2 – Topic Proposal Due – This week, you will hand in your topic proposal. Here is what is required for your topic proposal:




  • A Cover Page (Title of Paper, Course # and Name, Your Full Name,  Semester Name, Professor’s Name, Date).




  • A second page briefly (3 sentences or less) describing the area of Telecommunications you will be studying and addressing in your paper. There are many, many topics to choose from. Here are a few Example Topics:




  • VoIP 




  • Video Systems




  • Wireless Telephony 




  • Wave Division Multiplexing




  • Enterprise & Wide Area Networks




  • Submission Instructions: Click on  the “Dropbox” tab at the top of your screen and place the assignment in the “Week2:Course Project” dropbasket.




Week 3 -  Outline (Due) – In week 3, you will hand in the Outline for your  course project.  For an example outline, please see “Doc Sharing”.


Week 4  – References Due – In week 4, you should have your research complete, and be ready to hand in your references. Submit a comprehensive bibliography. An APA formatted list of at least 5 references that you will use for your paper.  Be sure to check your sources thoroughly before submitting them to your bibliography. All citations should have some type of academic merit, that is, they should be research-oriented and incorporate material that is verifiable and well referenced.



Week 5 – Rough Draft Due – In Week 6, you will hand in your Rough Draft. This should be a relatively complete draft of your term paper that I can read and discuss with you. The draft should be from 6 to 8 typed, double-spaced pages in length, NOT counting the title page and reference page.


The Introduction to your paper should be very clear at this phase in the writing. In reading your drafts, I should have a clear sense of what this paper is covering and where it will go. The Introduction is the place to do this. Most of the supporting points of your paper should also be fairly well developed, though I don’t expect them to be perfect. The grammar should be excellent: make sure you pass the draft around and collectively edit it before submission. I will offer feedback to you all on these drafts and try to help as much as I can in getting you prepared to submit a great final draft. This draft should be seen as a tool for making a really well-done paper. I will be utilizing the services of  for this paper, which is required by DVUO policies.  When the rough draft is submitted to e-college (this goes for the final paper as well), you will also send a copy to .  When we get closer to week 6, I’ll go over how do to this.
