TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP


 


      Management and leaders who cares about their company must also need to take care of their employees, they may need to transform or change their employees to improve and to be led to become great assets as employees or individual. Management as a leader should serve as a role model so that they can visualize their leadership and the idea being followed. Employees who are transformed are motivated and inspired to work and most of the times succeed in their endeavor. 


      Company and employees transformation starts with a vision that their leader needs their people to change their behavior or their performance. If leaders are passionate about their objective and thereby lead and transform, they are willing to initiate a great deal a wider sense of commitment towards their future. If leaders can see the bigger picture they will strive to implement such change, this may be due to their position or lack of advancement, competition may also be the reason why leaders need their employees to change their working habit so as to deliver their company to globalized economy or simply their desire to grow.


      Idealized and influence– Employees can see the character of such leader who has a great influence over their people, they are natural leaders who know how to respect them, treat them well through verbal and actual encouragement. Their management personality themselves is encouraging that they perform their ideals and aspiration therefore influence people through their good work ethics and character. This is a character of a person who never uses their position to push people through autocratic way but through principles and behavior.  


      Intellectual stimulation – Great leaders can highly influence their people through creativity and critical thinking, decision making and innovation. They appeal to the people as a primary source of new acquired knowledge. They are also good in problem solving, training and decision making. Intellectual capacity leaders do not necessarily be academically outstanding but they gain their potentials through experience and practice therefore becomes great leaders who transform people. Intelligence and leadership are two basic combinations of great leaders who can drive people through analytical and constructive thinking, not much above their ability to control but to show good judgment and therefore lead and transform.


      Individualized consideration – To be able to transform people, leaders need to teach them and lead them to the right direction. They are best in directing and coaching people. They are also good in counseling individual differences, this kind of management approach treat each employee individually so as to transform them according to their basic needs. Human resource managers basically handle such transformation and assess their personality to handle their individual needs. This is constantly practiced in school by the guidance counselor. Leaders have realized the value of individual consideration and their personal well being, therefore their approach maybe different from the others although the same rules and regulations are practice in their company.


      Inspirational motivation – Probably one of the most effective transformational leadership styles is motivation. Motivating employee’s gives out the best out of their performance, they set higher standards, initiate optimistic approach towards change and leaders who can inspire people can definitely lead them towards success. Sometimes employees are bored for the monotonous line of work and they may need a little push, motivating employees revitalize their strength to work more. Leaders can easily motivate employees through monetary and physical attributes but they are more likely to be motivated if they knew that the company is willing to listen.


      Transformational leadership equips employees what they need.  All this transformational leadership style can be use alternatively through the changing phase of business according to their needs. Through this management effort, they can be assured that their employees will make the most performance during their stay.  


      As expected, great leaders can inspire, aspire, motivate and transform people. This transformational leadership has been used successfully by great leaders like Benjamin Franklin who gives freedom to their country and transforms its people, transforming their life to adequate security and sovereignty through good governance and equality. Mahatma Gandhi does the same for his fellowmen by leading their country through spirituality and freedom. Therefore transformational leadership plays a vital role in an organization and can be easily acquired and implemented; the result would definitely be for the betterment of the company and the people. Most of the time the result of transformational leadership is highly positive, the more the people are influenced by leaders the more they can control them and lead them to their objectives.
