(b) Explain the effect of divorce on a valid will.
(c) Ho, a merchant seaman, is caught in the typhoon in the south china sea. Ho fears for his life and use the ship’s radio to pass the following massage to the port authorities: “if I don’t make it, I want everything to go to my girlfriend, May.”
Ho survives the typhoon, though he dies of a heart attack on his return to Hong Kong. Ho is survived by his wife, Joan and his two children.
(i) Has Ho made a valid will? Explain the issues involved.
(ii) Assuming that Ho dies having made a valid will, explain the procedure to be observed in dealing with the estate.
(iii) Assuming that Ho dies intestate, explain how the estate might be distributed.
