THE ROLE CONFLICT AND THE COPING MECHANISMS OF

STUDENT WORKING MOTHER IN THE UNIVERSITY.

What if a woman happened to be a student working mother in one? Life is definitely a struggle from waking up till the time you sleep you can even wonder how it can be done but this can be possible if taken a little courage and determination on her part.  For instance a single mother can probably come along these hard experiences and may easily fall apart from the problem that may come along.  Today we are going to tackle some real examples of lives of women who have gone into this kind of situation and succeed in it.

For confidential reason we are going to hide their real personality.  1. Melba is a single mom she has given birth to a child when she was in college and she realize she need a job just to meet the needs of the child. The question is how can she probably do it all by herself.  She then scheduled her schooling at night time and does odd job like baby- sitting. Unfortunately the father of her baby is not responsible enough to give allowance to her baby.

At home together with her baby and at times when she left the house she paid another baby sitter for the children, she kept tight on her busy schedule and took care of her child all at once. This seems to be a simple guideline but still she struggles to have a personal time for herself and life seems a monotonous and compelling. She has to accept all this and take pride in this situation or lost her mind.   2. Stephanie – Has a better situation his husband is a home buddy and help her takes care of the children, takes care of the laundry and wash the dishes and even clean the house. While Stephanie goes into college university and worked as a writer in a magazine company, There are times when she slept in class and not done her homework sometimes she fail in school because she always thought about her two children. Problem seems to arise when her salary may not be enough to pay the electricity and miscellaneous bills in due time.  A fight with her husband is constantly beyond control. His joblessness almost always kept her irritated. She cannot help but to wonder when will it end.

      3. Zenaida is a working student and a wife with 3 young children who abruptly want a piece of attention from her. They never want their mother to live them at home together with their grand-mother.  But she may never have enough time since she worked as an attendant in a hotel. Life is full of misery when his husband died and never left them a fortune but just an old house she couldn’t even find money for her tuition fees to continue schooling.

As you can see there will always be trouble when a person does it all by herself being a student working mother. If a woman resigned from her job she couldn’t meet their needs and if they deferred schooling they wouldn’t take them anywhere. So what will be their options? The following tips should help:

1.    Ask your in-laws or parents or friends to help you out in taking care of the children for quite sometimes until you graduated from your school. You should give them enough allowance at least for the basic needs of the children or they may grow weary in doing so.

2.  Apply for scholarship in your municipality if possible, some community and organization gives grant for women who have this kind of situations so check on it if you qualify. You may also look for it over the internet.

3.  Enroll in a correspondence and online course rather than becoming a regular student if possible, a correspondence and online course is a school like activities conducted at home using mails sent at your doorstep and an online pre made materials and examination. This kind of program allows you to work at your own face at your own time and still receive a diploma like a regular student without the hassle of traveling and spending too much.

We hope the following information may have help you in your struggle as you move on in your life as a student working mother and probably succeed in your life no matter how difficult it may seems.
