Quality assurance as an Integral Part of Service Delivery

1.0  Introduction

We are all consumers—we subsist on products the market has in store on us. Everything around us calls for our attention–be it an attractive gadget, a tempting ice cream or an alluring piece of clothing. We generally like products that are high on quality, of great value and that would make us proud we bought that item. So assurance that the quality of the product we have is an essential reason why we bought that product in the first place.

2.0 Body

Quality assurance is the process of verifying or determining whether products or services meet or exceed customer expectations. It is the make or break of a product. It is a process-driven approach that helps define and attain goals and attaining the customer’s needs. The process focus on the design of the product, how it was developed, the production, and the quality of service. It is a surefire method for monitoring quality assurance because it analyzes existing conditions and methods used to provide the product or service customers. The mission is to ensure that excellence is inherent in every component and every step of the process. It also helps determine whether the steps used to provide the product or service are appropriate for the time and condition it was made. Planning, Checking and Acting are the three essential steps in determining whether the product is in good condition. Thorough planning is the investigation of the raw materials being used to assemble the product, the inspection of every inch of detail in the making of it is crucial to produce a foolproof product. Checking includes customer feedback, surveys, or other marketing strategies as  to determine if customer needs are being exceeded or just met. And acting is the total revision in the whole process if there is something to be corrected or if it flawed.  Competition to provide highly specialized products and services results in surprising breakthroughs that led to radical approaches to quality assurance. This means that because of the unique method in providing service to consumers, they are remembered by the consumer and it would make them stand out from all the rest.  Furthermore, it also provides long-term growth and change.

In addition, quality assurance verifies that any customer queries, regardless if it is new or evolved, is delivered and offered with the best possible materials, in the most comprehensive way, with the highest standards. The goal to exceed customer expectations in a measurable and accountable process is provided by the concept of quality assurance. It must be “fit for purpose” (the product should be suitable for the intended purpose). The raw materials, assemblies, products and components; services related to production; and management, production and inspection processes are the keys factors that should be taken into account by the manufacturers and retailers—and the positive end product would lead to consumers coming back for more.

Moreover, quality assurance addresses the overall problem of obtaining the quality of a service, product, or facility in the most efficient, economical, and satisfactory manner possible. Within this broad context, quality assurance involves continued evaluation of the activities of planning, designing, development of plans and specifications of the consumer.

3.0 Conclusion

It is a universally known fact that quality is the single most reason as to why a consumer is buying a certain product. The way the product is presented—down to the very inch of the minute detail of it is very important to have a steady following of the product. People are very discerning to the product they are buying so that they will get the best out of their hard-earned money so assuring the people of the quality of the overall service is more than enough to make them happy. Making them test the product, sampling it, and the assessment of test results to determine whether or not the quality of the produced material is just right for them must be thoroughly executed. If the product is at its utmost quality, it will automatically lead to stellar deliverance of service.
