Ideally, health promotion plays a crucial role among the society and is much given importance by certain health groups as the advocacy for good health must be realized, there is weight given to oral health promotion viewed within Knox Community Health Service as it operates through such disciplinary team approach focusing to dental services, drug and alcohol counseling and others. There was investigative study created and identified such methadone users known as ‘special needs group’ for oral health promotion. The approach undertaken shows effective paradigm that incurs strategies from across the spectrum of interventions and the objectives provides awareness to the community and has been an eye opener to those involved in oral health. The strategies involved in the study such as the development of Teeth Tips wallet card and visual reminders for display at points of methadone provision, Sample Care Plans, a range of Information packages for both target population groups, Education sessions and Priority listing trial for dental appointments for TPG1 are strategies that plays vital role in understanding the value of oral health and its promotion domains not just for Knox but for every community service.

Furthermore, although several barriers are evident, but the purpose was achieved despite lack of priority given to oral health by methadone program participants and there exists priority listing that helps a lot for the organization of oral health. Indeed, sustainable outcomes helped a lot in terms of education relating to health care professionals within the field and thus, by executing better care plans, there has been improvement on certain knowledge of dental services imparting solid transformation and awareness of certain issues and in the access of oral health policies at Knox Community. Thus, the approach, Teeth Tips Wallet Cards can incur sustainability ways for instance, as essential to the pharmacists. Moreover, it can be that, having poor oral health does provide significant effect on the person’s health and have impact on physical health, also levels of self-esteem as well as economic stability. The project assumes better use for in-depth research as well as the strengthening of certain health knowledge of people within their oral health in focus. Generally, it is important to have ideal consideration of promoting oral health and that, the involved project serves well in terms of providing useful communication channels that will outcome into better health synergy within the health society as a whole.

Literature Review

There is involvement of ‘evidence based planning’ being good framework upon which the government and well known health organizations are funding for example health programs relating to oral health watch thus, it can be by means of providing better rating system for the implementation strategy in achieving useful outcome. As the Dental Health Services Victoria in Public Health Division (cited from, Public Health Division, Department of Human Services 1999 p. 18-20), indicated that there were recently completed document pointing towards ’Promoting Oral Health 2000; 2004: Strategic Directions and Framework for Action’ reviewing oral health enhancement strategies and studies and there was few enhancement strategies having strong evidence as for some strategies is not supporting the fact that there is oral health effectiveness and promotional measures having balance outcomes. However, it can be that, effective health promotion goes beyond health care and putting health in better agenda with policymakers, directing them to be aware of health consequences in terms of decisions and accepting responsibilities for health. Then, communities should also strive to develop effective programs on oral health safety and oral hygiene. It is unlikely that improvements in oral health can be achieved by isolated interventions that target specific behaviours from within sustainable interventions combining social policy and individual action as healthy lifestyles are promoted as certain behaviours may not affect oral health status as expressed by the clinical measures but it does impact a person’s quality of life (Cited from WHO 2002 in Petersen)
