DIABETES AND DIETARY CONTROL


 


     Diabetes is a sets of diseases through which the body cannot regulate the amount of sugar or glucose within the blood. Glucose is a substance that can give energy to our body to perform physical activities, if the body could not produce enough insulin or the cells do not respond this usually causes diabetes. There are various types of diabetes that can be acquired but mostly it is controllable with the help of advance technology and medicines available in the market today.


      Millions of people may die due to diabetes, some of its symptoms are like; frequent urination, frequent thirst, blurring of visions, fatigue, uncontrollable thinking behavior. If you feel signs are showing up you may need to consult your physician immediately to take immediate action before it gets worst. Diabetes can also be maintained and controlled through proper diet and positive attitude in life plus the medicines given by your doctor. If you have diabetes usually doctors recommend you to have a dietary change to control your sugar level and your weight.


      Over eating and lack of imbalanced diet result in different complications so you may need to exercise constantly and religiously to take the given dietary measures which is usually balanced and good for your health? Tracking the changes in your diet including eating the right amount of food is recommended for all people without diabetes this can help people prevent various diseases. Depending on the type of diabetes, your physician may require you to maintain any of the following dietary intakes they may have a specialized recommendation that we can only be defined according to the patient’s condition but usually the patients may be given an advice including the following;


      Carbohydrates intake – healthy food with carbohydrates such as fruits and vegetables, legumes and grains including cheese, milk, butter and cream as long as it is  low fats dairy products may be considered.


      Fiber rich foods – can be found from various plants, fruits and vegetables like apple, avocado, grapefruits, pepper, broccoli, almonds, wheat flour or some types of bread. Fiber rich food can prevent heart disease and control your sugar level.


      Fishes and seafood – Include fish in your diet at least twice a week they are a good source of omega 3 and fatty acids that is good for the heart. Most fishes are good alternative for meat. Cod, tuna, salmon etc. but you need to cook the fishes differently than fried or it may not be good in various diabetes types.


      Good fatty foods – there are fatty foods that is good for the heart this includes non saturated food like avocado, olives, canola that are mono and poly saturated producers.


      There are also various foods that a person with diabetes may needs to avoid; obviously they need to avoid sugary food including honey. They must also need to avoid processed sweet food such as chocolate, sweets, candies etc. High fats dairy products like canned beef, hotdogs and sausages should also be prevented. Avoid all junk foods as much as possible, there are also junk foods that pretend to claim healthy ingredients but usually they are not or they are lying, better not take the risk. Food that are rich in cholesterol or oil can be easily found on the table but this type of food have a higher risk factor in developing more diseases more than diabetes avoid the food that are oily such an animal food, egg yolk, liver and other oily foods.


      Now that you have knowledge about the diet and healthy food for diabetes you will need to maintain the balanced food that you eat. Your dietitian can even provide you with a weekly or monthly plan about food intake and exercises activities for your body. There are also various proportion and measurements that you can ask for, timing is also important you cannot over abused the food and the physical activities as given by your doctors so you may need to clear things up before indulging yourself into it. It goes without saying that you may need to avoid illegal forms of drugs, alcohol and smoking if you want to live a good life.


      There are also available books, video and other resources about diet that can also be a big help but then again you may need to consult your doctors if this is good for your health. All the activities of a person who suffers from this kind of disease no matter what type of diabetes they may need to discipline themselves to follow the instructions given to take away risk factors that may ruin their dietary and physical plan. The medicine given should be strictly follow, if you feel that you don’t need the urge to take the medicines given by your physician consult them immediately and they may lower the prescriptions that they have given.
