CIVIL ENGINEERING THE ENGINE OF WEALTH CREATION


 


      There are many forms of engineering and they all contribute to the economy of such nation where they belong if practiced and harness in good fate. Like any other profession Civil Engineers can be a strong force in economic development and wealth creation that can build literally a solid foundation of designed construction of building public works and highways. This kind of profession can cater to the government and or private institution but basically does the job for public use. Civil Engineers have all the necessary qualification to bridge the gap of divided lands and nearby countries for they are the one who plan and design the great roads to wealth.


      They have built a solid foundation for transportation including bridges, tunnels, roads and other ways that we can use for the economical ways to travel. The civil engineers have devoted themselves to plan and construct such roads so that we can easily communicate and transact our business face to face without the hindrance of great distances delivery. They are the ones who plan and build water sewerage system to deliver fresh water into our home and offices for our personal and industrial needs, they can also be the one to construct basic electrical power plant to light up our homes, They can also design a place for our businesses a large building and other infrastructure that is needed to cater a place to transact our businesses. They can also plan to build a wide gymnasium or a large public stage for presentation and gatherings. All this and more are their contribution to economy and wealth creation. It is in their artistic hand and brilliant mind that we are able to afford the luxury of life we are living in today.        


      In return for their good labor, Civil Engineers are paid a very considerable amount to equate their skills and mastery of work. Civil Engineers in public works even more benefited from their labor because they are able to receive a government fund and other benefits depending on the government or country they may have served.


      The job is not that easy because it requires physical strength that they will be expose in heavy construction sites and materials and they work hard in sunlight till it rains, they can even remain to work in isolated areas if required. Civil Engineers are required to have scientific mind to be efficient in their work because the job requires so much computation and calculation upon construction. But then again their job becomes exciting if they have created a masterful and skilled construction that is beneficial and highly accepted by the public.


·         To be able to become a great Civil Engineer they should posses a very high quality aspiration to serve the public.


·         They should be highly literate in mathematical an analytical function.


·         They must be efficient in inventory control and detail oriented in all paces of they worked to be able to meet the ever growing demand of people in the industry.


·         They should be practical and physically capable to handle tough job in construction.


      The Civil Engineers contribute largely to wealth creation, they can also be the reason for economic recovery when they have constructed roads and bridges that will strengthen the gap of both rural and urban transportation so that they can interact and manage to sell their ideas, products and services to the people they have not met. Their construction can create an opportunity to exercise exchange of goods and services that is highly needed to adapt additional cultural diversity in another land. Basic necessities like Rice, Corn Crops, and Sugar etc. can be easily delivered and transport into place. The roads they have built have open up an opportunity that strengthen and minimize the cost of transportation from Airplane to truck delivery have been practiced.


      To be able to understand and realize their importance in wealth creation and inspire us to appreciate their contribution let us look at the famous Civil Engineering works that change history and revolutionize its course. These are some of the following; The Ancient Pyramid of Egypt, the Great wall of China and the London Bridges. All these and more has become the part of history made by the greatest engineers in our past. In the end their work are their masterpiece and their contribution that all of us will soon pass, their construction will last from generation to generation. The works they have built will be a very strong foundation for economic development and wealth creation.
