The technologies today were designed through computers. Internet protocol is the most common name in regards to computers. It is the most popular open-system today, because it can be used to communicate across any set of interconnected networks and are equally well suited for Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) communications. Through it, the people know about the common applications such as the Internet surfing, electronic mail, terminal emulation and file transfer. There is a need in using such logical Internet Protocol (IP) schemes because of the volume of traffic over the networks that mainly the caused of the popularity of the Internet and its related services. And there is no assurance for a slowdown of the traffic growth of an Internet Protocol (IP). The main point is that as the traffic keeps going in the network, the reliability of the network also gains importance. Each computer must have a unique name in order to identify it with other computers. In naming a convention it requires 15 characters below for the compatibility of the NetBIOS and WINS and convenience. There is a need in naming convention in order to prevent hackers and computer geeks to get some information from the people through the computer. In large companies that manage a thousand workstations and servers a logical naming convention is a must. Through this you can easily identify the person in charge of the server and workstation and can also be used as a security tool to identify the place where internal threats had came from. The switches, referred to as a routing table allows of keeping tracks of what is attached to it. It responded a request coming from a certain computer and sends it to the computer that needs to be packed. The advantage in using switch is that it will not cause any collision, because it is the one who route a computer’s request to a certain computer.  (2005, December 14).          The implementation of routing will give convenience to the people. Because it is the one which is responsible for gathering the computer to belong to a private network and connect them to all public IP network or the internet. It gathers the packets of the two computers on a two different subnets. It also analyzes the packet to know what type of packet it is and it has the ability to filter the packets or read them and then decide what is to be done. Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) is an enhanced version of Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP). The impact of the birth of EIGRP is that it allows all the routers to get involved in a change of topology to synchronize at the same time. EIGRP has a route tagging which means that it can give a network administrator flexible policy controls and help to customize routing. It provides compatibility in inter-operation IGRP which is very important so that the users can take advantage of the benefits of the two protocols. The Domain Name System (DNS) is a database system that translates a computer’s qualified domain name into an IP address. It translates the IP address to a user-friendly domain name. Each company or organization should have a main server handling the DNS queries. The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard Internet protocol that exchange files between computers on the Internet. Its capacity is to make requests to download programs from a Web page. The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), is the set of rules for transferring files like graphic images, video, sound, text, and other multimedia files on the net. There is a need in using Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) because it is responsible for containing references to other files whose selection will derive additional transfer requests. It is also an application protocol that runs on top of the TCP/IP suite of protocols. The Trivia File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) on the other hand, is a very simple file transfer protocol, with the functionality of a very basic form of FTP. It is useful for booting computer such as routers which did not have any mass storage devices. The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a protocol governing network management which monitor of network devices and their functions. The Network Address Translation (NAT) is a standard Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) that enables a local area network (LAN) to use one set of IP addresses for internal traffic and a second set of address for external traffic. There is a need in using a Network Address Translation (NAT) because its purpose is to acts as a firewall by hiding internal IP addresses and it enables an enterprise to use more internal IP address to avoid conflicts. In addition to that, a firewall is simply a program or hardware device that filters the information coming through the Internet connection into your private network connection. Therefore, it is advisable to have a firewall because without it all the computers are accessible to anyone and if that will happen to a certain company, the hackers can access directly and stole files or information.
