PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OF LEADERS AND MANAGERS AT WORK


 


      The manager or leader is the driving force of the company they can be the one to make the final decision they are the one who have the knowledge to plan ahead, organize the works involved, they have the potential to direct their workers and the ability to control people and their standings in the eyes of the public. They are one who can guide their employees in motivation and skills to make the company grow, it is basically important that they themselves can have a continuous development plan to carry on their desire to work according to their company objectives.  


      Managers and leaders have an extensive role in the company they must meet the competency requirements of the day to day challenges that they have to carry on. The skills they possess should be in the highest standard and diverse in role performance. The best manager knows the skills of their workers in most departments in fact they are source of knowledge in the company as much as possible so that workers cannot question the competency and qualification of their managers. Managers knows how to respect their workers and they realized the value of their position.


      Leaders and Managers needs to be up to date in their personal development to further enhance their leadership and management skills while at work. No matter how simple or complex the activities they want to impart for themselves as long as if can help the company is much better. They must develop themselves physically so they can handle the physical pressure or be able to delegate their task; they must mentally develop themselves for all the challenges of competition and decisions they are going to make. They must also be prepared spiritually to condition their persistent so that they cannot be shaken when problem arises. These are all important to create a life balance and a healthy personality being a leader and a manager.


      If they think that their skills needs attention and updates they can acquire new skills personally for example they need additional skills in computer education they can enroll in an online class or actual schools part time. There are many available possibilities and opportunities that can derive. They can be able to find new ways and plans according to their desire. Their willingness and desire will uplift themselves; it can give them strength to grow even more as they grow in the company. Their company may even provide the resources and the assistance required for their training if they need financial support or material support to meet their plan, they can do so as long as the company is assured they will benefit from the managers idea towards personal development and growth.


      If the manager or leader needs to go to Europe or Australia and other country to acquire new techniques or knowledge from various companies that will enhance their production or quality and designs of their products and basically gather new management skills. The manager should persevere to be able to gain such knowledge that will take their company to the next level. The managers of various hotels are joining different social party for their personal development and at the same time to promote their company from various social gatherings.   


      The managers can develop themselves personally at work if they want, the process required is simple knowing their employees and their staff, creating a corporate relationship from other institution inside and outside the company if possible, a personal visitation of their workers or maybe creating a new team building outdoor, a party on Friday night act is great. They can be creative in knowing their employee, as long as it does not extend to personal relationship but a good practice of work ethics can best make the leaders and the managers. Constant participation and cooperation from subordinates or workers can ease their workload and interpersonal relationship; this does not only develop the manager but also their workers. 


      This may seem a simple activities but the impact in the performance in the manager’s day to day approach will be developed. The workers will take pride in their performance and their work emphasis will be even better, the organization as a whole will regain their strength from a monotonous daily task.  A broader response and motivated employees, a guaranteed production workflow can be achieved without spending too much. These are all its advantages and it starts in the decision of the leader and manager of the company.


      Managers from big company including Dell, IBM, Microsoft, Nokia and other Business Process Outsourcing company has been doing this practices including sports fest, field trip, personal massage and relaxation at least one new activity every month if they have a good sales and through these activities they can assess their performance at work without the workers knowledge and usually managers are satisfied. The communication process between managers and employees can be easily developed; they can set aside the valuable workload from their activities so the managers and employees can relax. As expected, the managers, leaders and employees personal development approach can also be found at work.
