The first image presents an image of a woman showing her prowess and strengths which imply that woman can do their responsibilities skilfully. The image use various signifiers that publicise both the strength of the woman holding her muscles and an image which is in line with the ideology of the text through the slogan “WE CAN DO IT”, that showcase power, freedom and fighting spirit.  The image predominantly features a female in her adulthood stage and holding her muscles and with her fist close. The bottom right have a text saying “War Production Coordinating Committee” with its logo or icon above the text.  The text “WE CAN DO IT” is on the upper part of the female model and together, the image of the woman and the text forms an effective and unified message.  On a simple approach, it is very easy to reduce two obvious objects.

First, that the subject (the feature of a woman) gives an element of power and strength which serves both the logo and the text in which it is being shown and secondly, that the text which support the image of the woman. In this image, the more interesting semiotic aspect exists within its notion of power and strength, which is the primary signified context. The notion of power is principally conveyed by the image of this lone woman, who, despite of her gender, seems extremely powerful and unrestricted by normal life, which provides a sense of liberty and power to do things. Moreover, the softly focused quality of the image, and the colour of blue and red and yellow, are further signifiers that contribute to the image of power and strength.

Another quote that supports the argument of the report is the statement of  which states that “Feminism is a struggle to end sexist oppression. Therefore, it is necessarily a struggle to eradicate the ideology of domination that permeates Western culture on various levels.”  This means that women are trying their best to fight for their right and to change the view of individuals regarding the abilities and skills of women in the society. This context is depicted on the three images which show that they strive hard to achieve their objective and goal.

Lastly, the quote that supports the argument of this report is the statement of  (1986): “Feminism is the political theory and practice that struggles to free all women:  women of color, working-class women, poor women, disabled women, lesbians, old women-as well as white, economically privileged, heterosexual women.”  This quote is depicted in the three images as the image is relevant for political activities like the revolution in Peru and the celebration of the Women’s Day.
