Directions for Research Paper


Select a topic relevant to this course, and have it approved by me. Read at least five journal articles about the topic. Some of the journal articles should be research studies or reviews of research studies. Do a critical review and summarize the information you learned from the articles. Relate what you learned to information presented in the text. The paper should be 5-10 pages double-spaced with APA style.


You will be graded on the following criteria:




  • Relevance of the topic to the course.




  • Adequate summary of the topic.




  • Evidence that you have learned in-depth information about the topic.




  • Composition- including sentence structure, organization of ideas, paragraphing, spelling, grammar, and punctuation




  • Use of APA style




  • Correct citing of references

The research has been critically analyzed, and the information in the paper demonstrates understanding of the research method.

Mechanics


Sentences are well constructed. Paragraphs are organized and include an introduction and conclusion or transition.


Most of the sentences are well constructed, but there may be a sentence or paragraph that is not clearly written, or constructed correctly.


Several of the sentences are unclear, are fragments, or run-ons.
